As you all know, I work with South Central Ambulance Service closely, and respond to as many 999 calls as possible while on shift.  The increase in demand since Covid is unbelievable.  These stats are not surprising, but it does reflect why it is taking so long for our poor crews to attend to the jobs they are sent to. Emergency departments experienced their second busiest July ever last month, with new data published today showing 2.1 million attendances.
